Denver Arts and Technology Academy
The Denver Arts & Technology Academy is a new generation of public schools. Founded by a coalition of dedicated parents and community leaders, authorized by the Denver Public School District, and managed by Mosaica Education, Inc., is has been a model of excellence since opening in 2000 and is a school of choice for families from a wide area within the school district.
The Denver Arts and Technology Academy is characterized by an active and engaged community of parents, teachers, and students. The school boasts a talented and highly diverse staff that reflects the community that it serves. 50% of the staff is minority and more than 30% of the teachers have earned a master's degree. DATA maintains low student to teacher ratios which have been proven to increase academic achievement.
The curriciulum at DATA combines effective learning strategies with scientifically proven academic programs, including Mosaica's acclaimed Paragonô curriculum. This integrated program includes social science, math, literature, philosophy, drama, music, art, history, geography and character development through hands-on study of "great ideas" in world culture. In addition, computer and technology applications are woven into the very fabric of the curriculum.
An exciting new chapter in the DATA success story is being written with the brand new, state-of-the-art facility. Investor confidence in the school resulted in the sale of an 8.4 million dollar bond issue that financed the new building. The new building implements cutting edge and environmentally friendly design elements. The new facility allows for extensive access to the latest computer technology as an authentic learning tool, enabling students to address unprecedented career challenges and global opportunities facing them in the 21st century.
